Katy Born in the vibrant city of Havana, Cuba, Katheryn Barreda discovered her love for dance at an early age. By just four years old, she was already training as both a rhythmic gymnast and a Flamenco dancer, fully immersing herself in the rich cultural rhythms of her hometown. At the age of seven, Katheryn’s family made the move to Miami, Florida—a transition that would become the turning point in her dance journey. In this new city, her passion blossomed, and by nine years old, Katheryn was training and competing seriously, showcasing her talent on stages across the United States through elite dance competitions and conventions. As an aspiring professional dancer, Katheryn sees dance as her truest form of self-expression—a language through which she shares her soul with the world. With deep love and respect for her craft, she pours her heart into every performance, always striving to grow and evolve. Over the years, she has trained in a wide array of styles, including Ballet, Contemporary, Lyrical, Jazz, Hip Hop, Heels, Modern, Afro, Reggaeton, and Ballroom, each adding new layers to her versatility as an artist. Her journey into ballroom dance holds a particularly special place in her heart. Through dedicated weekly lessons with her mentor, Darcy Ima, Katheryn developed not only the technical precision required for ballroom but also a profound appreciation for the grace and discipline the style demands.

Performing had become her greatest passion, and she was determined to transform her dreams into reality. Like many artists, Katheryn has faced moments of self-doubt and insecurity. Yet, through the guidance and mentorship of Chris Negret at Magic Dance Studio, she found the confidence to push beyond her fears. Chris encouraged her to embrace her individuality, helping her unlock a deeper connection to the music and movement. Under his mentorship, Katheryn honed her unique style, and with the support of her studio family, she gained the courage to believe in her talent, even during the most challenging times. Today, Katheryn’s love for dance extends beyond the stage. She now shares her passion with the next generation of dancers, teaching styles such as Jazz, Acro, Ballroom, Ballet, Lyrical, Contemporary, Hip Hop, and more. Through teaching, Katheryn has discovered a new purpose—nurturing young talent and inspiring others to pursue their dreams. One day, she hopes to open her own dance studio, creating a space where dancers can thrive and discover the same joy that dance has brought to her life. Katheryn's dedication and talent have led to countless performances, recitals, and even television appearances. She has graced screens on Univision and Telemundo, danced alongside Chyno Miranda, performed during the halftime show of the Miami Dolphins vs. San Francisco 49ers game, and trained under some of the industry's most respected choreographers, including Chris Negret, Menina Fortunato, Gianna Martello, D’Angelo Castro, AlexWong, Autumn Miller, Charity Reid, and Mollee Gray. Beyond dance, Katheryn has recently discovered a passion for modeling and creative work behind the camera. In 2025, she made her debut on one of fashion’s biggest stages—New York FashionWeek—adding another exciting chapter to her artistic journey. With an open heart, relentless determination, and an unstoppable drive to keep growing, Katheryn Barreda is a true artist on the rise. She continues to embrace every opportunity that comes her way, inspiring others through her story, her movement, and her unwavering love for the art of dance.
